Rad Hat Studio, open since 1999, offers classes in oil and acrylic painting, color pencil, as well as assistnace in designing stained glass and mural projects.
Award winning local artist and muralist Liz Hutchinson is the owner of the studio as well as prinicpal instructor. Commissioned artwork ranges from formal portraits, landscapes and home murals. Guest artists are often scheduled to introduce new approaches. Mr. Gale Bennet, owner of Art Study Giverny, is a frequent instructor. Almost every summer Liz hosts a group of artists who travel to France and partake of the ArtStudy experience, painting in the beautiful gardens of Claude Monet. Gwen Slimp has become a "regular" in presenting a Color Pencil Workshop in Feburary, while Liz conducts the Right Brain Drawing Workshop at the Visual Arts Center.
Scheduled studio classes are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 9 am to noon and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm.
