The south side of Punta Gorda is a growing area with several specialty stores and larger stores like Super Walmart and Home Depot.   A new development called "The Great Loop" is in the permitting process.  It will bring over 1.2 million square feet of new retail space to Punta Gorda. 

On the East Side
You'll find some unique shops on the east side of I-75!

Tips on Boating In
Punta Gorda is located on beautfiful Charlotte Harbor at the mouth of the Peace River! 
It's a great boating destination.  Marinas and over night dockage are available within walking distance of historic downtown Punta Gorda at the city owned Laishley Marina and at Fishermen's Village.  You can also boat in and dine and shop at Burnt Store Marina! 

Think Thursday
Any day is a great day to visit Punta Gorda, but Thursdays just seem special!  The third Thursday of every month, the Punta Gorda downtown merchants host Gallery Walk - an evening of music, entertainment & art!  Thursdays are also special at Gilchrist Park where you can enjoy free concerts put on by Punta Gorda's guitar army!    Check out our events page for more information!
